This ritual gives you a safe container to explore the parts of yourself you often avoid. It helps you approach discomfort with honesty rather than fear. Through steady self-awareness, you make room for understanding and growth.

  • Candle

    Any small candle that feels grounding and safe.

  • Journal and pen

    A journal notebook or loose paper with something to write with.

    Ritual Steps

    1. Ground the body

      Sit with your feet on the floor and breathe slowly until you feel reasonably stable and present.

    2. Illuminate shadow

      Light a candle and say that you are willing to see what you must see for your growth and healing.

    3. Write the truth

      Write freely for ten to fifteen minutes about whatever is arising without editing or judging yourself.

    4. Offer compassion

      Place your hand over your heart and acknowledge that facing these truths is an act of courage not failure.

    5. Close with care

      Extinguish the candle thank yourself for doing the work and follow the ritual with something gentle like tea or stretching.

    Closing / Release

    As you close, honor yourself for showing up honestly. Let any insights continue to unfold gently over time. Let your reflections settle in their own time, offering insight and understanding as they naturally rise to the surface.
