Traditional Meaning

Courage under trembling, communal voice, and endurance. Speak anyway; lean on allies; remember that many small leaves make a loud tree.

Eadha is courage in motion. It belongs to the aspen or white poplar, whose leaves tremble and shimmer with every breath of wind. This feda speaks of endurance through change and the quiet bravery that comes from flexibility.

In Irish tradition, the aspen was a tree of communication and prophecy, its trembling leaves said to whisper messages from the Otherworld. Warriors were said to favor its light wood for shields, trusting its resilience in battle. Though not the strongest of trees, it endures through adaptability, thriving where others cannot.

Eadha calls us to move with life’s currents instead of resisting them. It reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear but the grace to keep going despite it. Through Eadha, we learn the strength of yielding and the power that lives within motion.
